<p>We built this 2013 Yamaha R1 for a customer who wanted to stand out a bit. The carbon body work was already on the bike but the customer really wanted to set it off, so he asked us to do some upgrades.</p>
<p>We started with a couple pieces from inventory to clean up the front of the bike. Mirror block off plates and flush-mount turn signals were powdercoated to match the bike&#8217;s grey bodywork. We then set off to make some more dramatic changes to the bike. A custom exhaust was fabbed up to fit the factory location, but with smaller tubes and billet end-caps. This really let the cross-plane&#8217;s engine notes be heard! Next was building the hand-made single sided swingarm for the bike.This trellis style arm would hold the 240 rear tire mounted on a Ducati Diavel rear rim. The front Diavel wheel was made to fit the factory R1 rotors with a cnc&#8217;d adapter plate. Then it was off to the oven with them. A particularly eye-catching color of blue for the rims with a flat clear over it, so they didn&#8217;t scream too loud, really set this bike off! The bike has the perfect balance of subtle bling, and if the rims don&#8217;t catch your eye, you might walk right by  and miss all the details on this bike. Being that the R1 is one of our favorite bikes to customize (and ride) we were more than happy to have this 2013 Yamaha R1 roll out of the shop and into your social media feeds for a good portion of 2016. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is the first kit we built to use the Ducati Diavel size 17&#215;8 inch wheel and 240 tire.</p>
<p><span id="more-2274"></span>All the 240 kits that we&#8217;ve done in the past have been built around the 18&#215;8.5 inch rear wheel.  This is the standard &#8220;240&#8243; wheel size which came from the Custom Cruiser industry.  It&#8217;s a great kit when coupled to the performance oriented 240/40-18 tires which were produced to satisfy the need of the Custom Sportbike Market.  This kit also necessitated the use of our full billet rear drive assembly.  This is an expensive setup considering the cost of the billet drive and aftermarket rear wheel.  These days many factory bikes come equipped with 240 rear tires as original equipment.  When Ducati introduced the Diavel power cruiser, it was supplied with a 17&#215;8&#8243; rear wheel and new size 240/40-17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso tire.</p>

<p>This CBR1000 Swingarm kit runs the Ducati Rear Drive assembly and Diavel 240/17 wheel/tire combination.</p>

<p>For this kit.  We used the factory option Diavel wheels.  We adapted the front wheel to fit the cbr for a complete matched look.</p>

<p>We used the aftermarket one piece steel rear sprocket from Superlite Sprockets. It comes in 530 chain pitch which works with the available offset front sprockets.</p>

<p>The bike getting this kit is the Black R1 with the Gold accents from the factory. The customer wanted to continue the look with the new wheels and swingarm kit. This kit uses our full billet drive assembly to allow us to run the Performance Machine wheels. A few select pieces have been anodized Gold. The wheels started out with the typical P.M. &#8220;Contrast Cut&#8221; finish. We took it a step further by powder coating the contrasted cuts with Gold powdercoat.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our customer was building a &#8220;vintage/kustom&#8221; style Harley.  The modern <a title="HHI " href="http://hawghalters.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&amp;catId=84" target="_blank">Hawg Halters</a> look was all wrong for the <a title="Kustom Tech" href="http://www.kustomtech.eu/" target="_blank">Kustom Tech </a>style he wanted.  The task was to give the master cylinders a facelift in the spirit of &#8220;Kustom Tek&#8221;.</p>

<p>To get the result we wanted.  The plan was to make new levers and master cylinder covers to match the K.T. look.  The customers bike requires a hydraulic clutch and K.T. does not offer a hydraulic clutch master cylinder.</p>

<p>While the final parts were to be Brass.  I made the initial set from aluminum.  A few redesigns later and the look, feel and operation were all correct.  The finalized programs were used to cut the parts from Brass.  I scuffed the polished HHI master cylinder bodies and polished the Brass parts.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">These phones are incredible and also a little fragile. Life in the shop can be dangerous for such things. There are many protective cases but often they diminish the sleekness and presence of the device. I&#8217;ve designed a case that protects from damage while preserving the cutting edge spirit.<span id="more-1097"></span></p>
<p>The material of choice is Delrin. An engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.</p>
<p>The case fits the phone tightly around the metal chassis. Any impacts are transferred into the phone instead of the front or rear glass, preventing expensive breakages. We&#8217;ve had 6 ft. drops onto the concrete with zero damage to the phone. The case will wear so your phone doesn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>Available in White and Black. Stainless m2 hardware and wrench included.</p>

<p>Here is our 2012 <a href="http://www.ride4kids.org/" target="_blank">Ride for Kids</a> Honda project. We started with a new CBR250 and went in the direction of a street &#8220;scrambler&#8221; with 19&#8243; P.M. Wheels and Dunlop flat track tires. A combo that we&#8217;ve really been enjoying lately.<span id="more-1078"></span> Thanks to Honda, Sport Chrome, Performance Machine, Colorzone Designz, Leo Vince, Galfer, Motorbikes+ of NH and Kyle Racing for the support!</p>
